BLUE HILL—In a homecoming headliner pitting first the girls and then the boys varsity soccer teams against Bucksport Golden Bucks on Saturday in Blue Hill, the boys scored a 3-0 win and the girls tied .
With the score 2-1 Eagles at the half, GSA’s Rory Bradford warned the team that #10 Bucksport wold come back strong and they did, scoring a second goal in the second half. With just minutes on the clock, Alyssa Chesney positioned the ball for a goal kick, Bradford went for a corner kick, and Morgan Dauk worked to control the ball but Bucksport blocked at every turn. Two overtime periods later, the score stood at 2-2. The #5 Eagles mid-season record stands at 4-1-2 .
The boys hustled to stay close to the #12 Golden Bucks, powering their win with two goals by Beowulf Urban and one by John Larson. The Eagles stand at 3-2-1 and are ranked #6.
