Deer Isle—The boys lost to Jonesport 63-52 in Jonesport on January 2. We played a strong first half and led 31-26 at the half. We faltered a bit in the third to trail 41-39, but then Jonesport took over in the fourth quarter to pull out the win. We weren’t able to maintain the level of shooting we had when we beat them at home. Tobey Snow led us with 18 points including four 3-pointers, Mason Oliver 11, Nathan Winchester 8, and Myles Brown 6.
The boys are 1-7 but climbed to the #8 position by virtue of their win over Jonesport the week before. There are a lot of teams that are very close, so we will have to win more games if we expect to remain in the mix for the playoffs. We should be able to win some of the close games we lost now that Mason Oliver is back from a preseason game injury.
