Deer Isle—The girls tennis team got their first win, beating Sumner 4-1 on Monday, May 13. In singles, Marissa Judkins won 8-2. Emma Plummer won 8-0, and Gabby Gray lost 8-5. In doubles, Jill McDonald/Addie McDonald won 8-0 and McHenna Martin/Anwen Hudson won 8-3. It was good to have a full team for this win.
The boys tennis team got their second win, beating Sumner 5-0, also on the 13th. In singles, Ben Penfold won 8-1, Mason Woodman won 8-3, and Dakota Emrick won 8-2. In doubles, we won both matches by forfeit, again being able to field a full team. Even without counting this win, we are in 10th place in the standings with the top 12 making the playoffs.
