Deer Isle— The girls soccer team tied Sumner 1-1 on Friday, September 14. Sumner was able to punch in a shot in the first half, but we responded less than a minute later with an unassisted goal by Jill McDonald to quickly tie it up. We had a couple of golden opportunities, but we couldn’t convert. On the other end, Kaylee “Stonewall” Morey stopped all the shots that Sumner could offer. This was a game where we were in control more than Sumner and were passing well.

The girls are 1-1-2 and are still within the top 12 spots. There is still a lot of soccer left to play. We are playing well, and Kaylee Morey is keeping us in the games with her defense at the goal mouth. If we can be more aggressive at the other goal mouth, we will get more wins.
