Blue Hill—Notching wins over Bucksport and Sumner by wide margins, the Eagles continued an impressive run through Class C North competition.

Hosting Bucksport (10-3) January 20, the team posted a 34-point win, a far different result from December when the Eagles had barely edged the Golden Bucks 69-66.

At home, the Eagles extended a six-point first quarter lead to 38-25 going into halftime and then held Bucksport to 14 points in the second half. They held a 55-31 lead by the end of the third quarter, finishing with a 73-39 win.

Seniors Taylor Schildroth posted 29 points and 10 steals, Max Mattson added 13 points and 14 rebounds and Stefan Simmons scored seven with 10 rebounds.

At Sumner (6-7) January 22, the final score told the story. Powered by a 32-point first half by Schildroth that included eight three-pointers, the Eagles rolled to a 104-52 victory, boosting their season record to 11-1.

Simmons added 10 points, senior Ben Cole, and juniors Eric Mote and Isaac Wardwell each added nine points for the win.

Sitting comfortably on top of the Heal Point Standings, the Eagles will play their next three games at home: Friday, January 26 against Narraguagus, Monday, January 29,  against Central and Wednesday, January 31, against Deer Isle-Stonington. Tip-off for all games is 7 p.m.
