Deer Isle—The boys soccer team lost to Searsport 13-2 on October 19. We trailed 8-0 at the half but played a better game in the second half. We punched in a goal by Steven Moon, I think, and then near the end of the half, Elijah Stinson raced up from the goalie position at the end of the field to kick in a goal. That was more like a hockey move when the goalie gets pulled for an extra attacker.

The boys lost to Schenck 9-0 October 21. We were out shot by quite a lot and only managed a few shots on goal.

It has been a frustrating year for the boys but with only one senior, we will start off next year with more experience than we did this year. I really feel we were just missing a couple pieces in certain spots to give us the confidence in passing to each other to keep from being pinned in our own end. It’s tough to be on defense for most of the game.
