Deer Isle—The boys soccer team lost its only game this week to Jonesport 11-1 on September 26. Despite the one-sided score, Coach Evan Rollins felt we had a lot more scoring opportunities than we have had. Our one goal came from Elijah Stinson, assisted by Dylan Thompson. Coach Rollins felt we had possession in the first half more than Jonesport which shows we are progressing. We made more defensive mistakes that were costly that Jonesport didn’t make.
Though the boys are still winless. Coach Rollins feels that the effort and coordination is improving. He is still making adjustments with positions and we are making mistakes that allow too many open shots on goal. Coach Rollins is optimistic that the success of the current lineup will be evident in how we play from here on.
