Blue Hill—The 2018 season has come to an end for the George Stevens Academy softball team, finishing 1-15 in Class C North, outside of playoff contention.

The season was highlighted by a 10-9, come from behind win against Deer Isle-Stonington High School on May 7. The team was able to take a late-game lead on the Mariner’s home field to register the only win of the season.

Offensively, the Eagles drove in a total of 51 runs over the course of 16 games, averaging about 3 runs per game.

The Eagles closed out their regular season with a 7-11 home loss to Deer Isle-Stonington on May 30. Heather Munroe recorded two RBIs during that game to lead GSA.

This is the second consecutive year the Eagles have been unable to make the postseason. The team made it to the preliminary round in 2016, but ultimately fell to Bucksport 13-9, who then went on to win the 2017 Class C North championship before losing 3-1 in the state finals.
