The 2019 Deer Isle-Stonington High School cross-country team is a family affair so far this season. The team is made up of brothers Ben Penfold, left, and Henry Penfold, and is coached by their mother and DISHS teacher Mary Penfold. Penfold said she is hopeful more students will join the team, especially since they would also be allowed to play soccer. The sport is a difficult one, said Penfold, but it is also a fun sport, and she hopes people interested in running will check it out. Those who are interested can talk to Penfold or DISHS Athletic Director Betsy Woodward.
