The varsity boys outstanding 68-59 win against now-second-ranked Central on December 22 marked the team’s fourth straight win, bumping them to the fifth spot in the Class C rankings and a 4-3 record. The Eagles jumped to a quick lead in the first quarter and never let go, with balanced scoring from Taylor Schildroth (15), Finn Davis-Batt (13) and Jarrod Chase (11). The victory followed on the heels of an 84-76 win over Class B team Mount Desert Island on December 19, helped by successful free throws (13 of 16) in the fourth quarter. Kelsey Allen led scoring with 32 points and provided 7 assists and 7 rebounds. Jarrod Chase contributed 15 points. Taylor Schildroth had 10 points and 8 assists.

Mariners boys follow Bucksport loss with strong win Scott's Sport Spot
DIS Mariners vs. Bucksport results
The Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners and Lady Mariners played the Golden Bucks at Bucksport on Wednesday, December 10, with different but equally decisive results. The girls won 58-43 powered by Megan Shepard 22 points. Allyson Eaton had 17.
The boys fell 59-34 with scoring spread among Kris Melanio, Jared Gove, Matt Duddy, Paul Zoephal, Etahn Shepard, Noah Davis and Mason Oliver.
Both teams are 1-2 less than two weeks into the season.

Way to open the season! The GSA varsity Lady Eagles overpowered the Bucksport Golden Bucks at home on Thursday, December 11, jumping ahead in the first minutes of the game and never looking back. Megan Nowland, Morgan Dauk and Alice Dillon led socring for a final 50-42 win.
The boys are three games in and three games down after a 80-60 loss on Wednesday, December 10 to Washington Academy at home.
