BANGOR—Despite a seventh inning surge, the George Stevens Academy Eagles fell short of the Eastern Class C title against Bucksport on June 17. With Will Ricker pitching, the Eagles held the Golden Bucks to one run in the fourth but could not score more than a base hit. The fifth inning changed what had mostly been a three up, three down game when Bucksport scored four runs for a 5-0 lead.
GSA came back in at the top of the seventh, when Will Entwisle walked to first and pinch-hitter Taylor Schildroth scored a base hit. Next up, Garrison Looke hit for first base bringing home a run. Beckett Slayton walked and the bases were loaded. Harrison Vinall scored an RBI and Will Ricker followed with another for 5-3. A quick strike out and the score stood as final. The Eagles and Coach Dan Kane accepted the runner up trophy, as the Eagles ended the season 15-4.
