Blue Hill—A top finish by the senior 800 meter relay team of Eliza Broughton, Zeya Lorio, Mary Richardson and Mary Brenna Catus helped push the George Stevens Academy girls team to place fifth in a field of 30 schools in the Class C State Track & Field Championships June 2 in Waterboro. Broughton’s second in the 300 meter hurdles and fourth in the 3200 meter run and Richardson’s second in the 3200 run contributed to the Eagles’ strong showing. The boys team placed sixth in a field of 32 teams, with a third-place finish in the 100 meter relay (seniors Max Mattson and Taylor Schildroth and juniors Daniel Li and Isaac Wardwell), and fourths in the 800 meter run by junior Meredith Bradshaw Thomas, and the 400 meter team (Mattson, Schildroth, Wardwell, and junior Jeremiah Scheff).
