Blue Hill—After a hard-fought comeback tie against the Orono Red Riots on October 13, the George Stevens Academy varsity boys soccer team sits in third place in the Heal Point Standings with a 9-1-4 record, below second-place Orono, after regular season games wrapped up this week. The Eagles also posted a 4-0 victory over Deer Isle-Stonington on October 11. The team will face #6 Bucksport (7-7) in the quarterfinals on October 25, with home field advantage and, barring any upsets, Orono (9-1-4) in the semifinal. Fort Kent (11-1-2) holds the top ranking heading into the playoff rounds.
The varsity girls team ends the regular season with a 3-8-3 record. They sit in 10th place in the rankings, barely hanging on to a playoff berth and with a hard road ahead, facing Narraguagus (8-2-2) in an away preliminary playoff game on Friday, October 20, aiming for a quarterfinal spot against second-ranked Dexter.
