The boys lost the first game of a May 21 doubleheader with Greenville 11-7. We trailed 6-5 after five innings, as we matched their output, but Greenville scored 5 runs in the sixth and seventh. We came back with 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh, but it wasn’t enough.
Krisford Melanio pitched the first 5 innings and Mason Oliver finished the game. We hit well, with Mason Oliver getting 2 doubles and a single, Silas Bates a double and 2 singles, Ethan Shepard 2 doubles, Nathan Winchester a double, and Colby Haskell and Noah Davis each with a single.
The boys lost the second game 25-4, where everything fell apart early as we gave up 9 runs in the first inning and then 8 in the fourth and 7 in the sixth. Coach Randy Shepard is still talking to himself over this game. It seemed like we totally lost our focus after playing a competitive game earlier.
