Blue Hill—The boys and girls cross country teams took first place at a home meet on September 18, with Will Entwisle crossing the line at 17:39.26 for the top finish, followed by Oliver Broughton at 17:47.31 and John Hassett, 17:50.64. Eliza Broughton took first for the girls at 19:42.50, followed by Mary Richardson, 18:54.86, and Zeya Lorio, 20:18.52.
The Eagles hosted five girls’ teams for the 2.9- mile race, with the Washington Academy girls’ the only school competing for a team score. The Eagles girls finished with a team score of 15 to Washington Academy’s 50, with Bucksport, Deer Isle-Stonington and Ellsworth not competing as teams. On the boys’ side, GSA finished with 18, Washington, 51 and Bucksport, 71, in a seven school field, with Blue Hill Harbor School, Deer Isle-Stonington, Sumner and Ellsworth not competing for team scores.
