Deer Isle—On January 8, the girls basketball team won their only game last week easily, beating Sumner 56-21. We built an early lead and Coach Randy Shepard played everyone. Every player but one scored. gain, this was a good game to give the younger players more experience. Rylee Eaton led us with 18 points, Maggie Bubar and Katie Hutchinson each had 6, Peyton Rice and Kaylee Morey each had 5, and Macey Brown 4.
The girls are 10-1 and currently in second place. We have a couple more challenging games, including a rematch with Greenville near the end of the regular season to get us in shape for the playoffs.
