Deer Isle—The fall sports awards were handed out recently. Golf coach Terry Siebert handed out the following awards: Rachel Shepard got the Coach’s Award and Best Attitude Award; Tommy Hutchinson, Lowest Average Award; and Wyatt Eaton, Most Improved Award.
Girls soccer coach Esther Adams broke with tradition and gave all the players a book, Wolfpack, written by Abby Wambach, co-captain of the Women’s National Team. She felt that every player on the team was indispensable to the team and wanted to recognize them all. The book outlines inspirational rules to govern how to live on and off the soccer field, working with and valuing each other.
Boys soccer coach Evan Rollins handed out the following awards: Elijah Stinson got the Offensive Award, Steven Moon also got the Offensive Award; Jacob Gell got the Defensive Award; and Mason Plummer got the MVP Award.
