Deer Isle—The cross country team competed at Searsport with six other schools on a difficult 1.5 mile course that is run twice to make 3 miles. Brendan Penfold ran second to George Steven’s John Hassett. Ian Cust coming in 44th, Benjamin Penfold 48th, and Trevor Cochrane 50th of 57 runners.
Younger runners are competing with varsity runners, which will challenge them even more. Brendan Penfold continues to excel with his second-place finishes to last year’s state champion.
