Boys lose, girls win as Mariners host Penobscot Valley
The Deer Isle-Stonington Mariners hosted Penobscot Valley on January 3. The girls pulled ahead in the third quarter and held on to win their game 58-54 but the boys fell 54-46 after leading by 10 points going into the second half. Jared Gove led the Mariners with 13 points. Krisford Melanio and Mason Oliver chipped in with nine points each.
The boys play Sumner at home on Wednesday, January 7, with a 7 p.m. tip-off, while the girls hosts Sumner on Tuesday, January 6, at 7 p.m. tip-off.
