Blue Hill—George Stevens Academy golfers Percy Zentz and Tyler McKenney finished in the top 12 of the Maine High School Golf Individual Championships on October 14 at Natanis Golf Course in Vassalboro.

Zentz wrapped up his junior season with an 18-hole round of 86, which put him in seventh place in a field of 17 golfers from the Class C division. He also received a medal for finishing in the top-10.

McKenney shot an 89 on the tournament to finish in the 11th spot to close out his high school golf career as a senior.

“I am proud of them both as they had great seasons and represented our school and team well,” Coach Dwayne Carter said.

“[Zentz] will be back next year as a senior and will have had great experiences which will help him in his quest for a chance to compete in the state championship.”

He had nothing but positive things to say about McKenney: “Tyler has had a great high school career and competed in four team state championships and one individual state championship.”
