Deer Isle—The boys basketball team held on to the last playoff spot by a thread. By a thread, I mean 0.17 of a Heal Point. It doesn’t get any closer than that. We need to take advantage of that break and win our preliminary game.

The good news is we play Bangor Christian, whom we split with during the regular season. The bad news is that they beat us badly in Bangor a couple of weeks ago. We started out real flat and they ran right over us, putting us in a big hole we couldn’t recover from.

We will have to match their intensity and be prepared for their pressure right from the start. We did it before and just need to repeat that performance. We have come a long way from the beginning of the season and it would be a big feather in our cap if we can make it to the Cross Center.

At press time, the game will be played at Eastern Maine Community College on Thursday, February 16 at 6 p.m.
