BLUE HILL—After losing two of its three contests last week, the George Stevens Academy boys soccer team rebounded with a 4-0 victory over Deer Isle-Stonington High School at home Tuesday, October 11.
The Eagles were unable to find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss to Ellsworth at home Monday, October 3, but the team’s offense exploded in a 6-1 win over Bucksport three days later. That game saw goals from John Larson, Chris Bennet, Jeremiah Scheff, Cameron Gordon and Tyler Brenton. The team was unable to take that offensive stamina into a weekend match-up with Orono Saturday, October 8, as the offense managed just one goal in the 3-1 loss.
The team is 7-6 entering the Thursday, October 13, contest against Dexter. That game will be the last regular season match for the Eagles, who are currently in eighth place in the Class C North standings, a lock for a berth in the preliminary playoffs on October 21.
