DIS girls soccer team improving Still searching for a win

Deer Isle—The girls soccer team lost to Schenck 2-0 in a September 22 game where we played much stronger than the first game with them. We had several offensive opportunities and held their offense to fewer shots. We have been able to add some eighth graders to our ranks. Just having enough players makes it better, and we are starting to play more together. Jesslyn Gove played goalie for the first half and Kaylee Morey the second half.

The girls are playing better and though we are still looking for our first win, we should be competing on more even terms as our offense is looking more organized. Overall, we had a real hard schedule to begin the season and injuries and sickness were a major drawback with our small numbers. We will be looking to gain a win or two this week as we work into the second half of the schedule.
