The boys are 4-1 and have made a great start to the season. The doubles teams are playing well and the singles players have been close in their losses.
The girls tennis team lost its two games to Penobscot Valley 3-2 and 3-2. We got our points by virtue of the doubles teams in both games. In the first game singles, Justine Rhys lost 8-1, Jess Trainor lost 8-4, and we forfeited the third singles. In the doubles, Veronica Pezaris/Nicole Nolan won 8-6 and Orly Vaughan/Ali Eaton won 8-6.
In the second game singles, Justin Rhys lost 8-0, Jess Trainor lost 8-1, and we forfeited the third singles. In the doubles, Veronica Pezaris/Nicole Nolan won 8-4 and Orly Vaughan/Ali Eaton won 8-2.
The girls are 0-5 and are still trying to put together a full team. This was the same problem that haunted us last year. If we can solve this problem, we can start winning games.
