GSA boys streak for three wins, girls tie Ellsworth

BLUE HILL—The Eagles varsity boys finessed a close 3-2 win over #4 Orono on October 10, powered by three goals by Beowulf Urban, with an assist on the first by Taylor Schildroth. The win followed a 2-1 victory over Bucksport two days earlier.

The third win—3-1 over Deer Isle-Stonington on October 13—brought the Eagles to a 7-4-1 season record, and inched them up one spot in the Heal Point rankings. They are now in sixth place, with two games left in the regular season.

The varsity girls are ranked fourth after a 1-1 tie at Ellsworth on October 7 and a rained out match against Orono. They are 5-1-4, with three games left before the playoffs begin. (The score from the October 14 game at Deer Isle-Stonington was not avilable by press time.)

The girls could get a bye in the regional prelim game on October 23 if they hold onto their current standing. Playoffs begin on October 23, with the girls regional prelim game, followed by the boys on October 24.
