BLUE HILL—In a homecoming headliner pitting first the girls and then the boys varsity teams against the Bucksport Golden Bucks on Saturday in Blue Hill, the boys scored a 3-0 win, while the girls team tied.
With the Eagles leading 2-1 at the half, GSA’s Rory Bradford warned her teammates that Bucksport would come back strong in the second half. The Bucks scored their second goal, while keeping the Eagles from scoring. Bradford went for a corner kick, and Morgan Dauk worked to control the ball toward the net, but Bucksport was able to block, driving the game into double overtime. With neither team able to score, the final score stood at 2-2, leaving the Eagles ranked fourth, with a 4-1-2 record.
The boys hustled in their defense against the #12 Golden Bucks, powering the Eagles win with two goals by Beowulf Urban and one by John Larson for a 3-0 win, a 3-2-1 record and the seventh spot in the rankings.
