Hassett takes first, girls upset Orono at Ellsworth Invitational

Ellsworth—Nineteen schools, a three mile course and one team victorious. The George Stevens Academy girls upset the top 2014 team, Orono, at the Ellsworth Invitational Cross Country meet on September 5. With Eliza Broughton (4), Mary RIchardson (5), Zeya Lorio (6), Hanna Gutow (12) and Bella Cimino (16)locking down five of the top 20 times, the girls edged the win by a mere 1 minute and 23 seconds in total team time.

John Hassett notched a first-place finish at 16:40, anchoring  third-place team win. Will Entwisle came in sixth and Oliver Broughton took the 13th spot.

The team races at Bucksport on Saturday, September 12; start time is 1 p.m.
