Boys tennis

At 10-1 for the season, the boys lost their first match this week to #4 Class B Ellsworth on May 26. They top the Class C rankings, and the road looks clear for the team to compete for a sixth straight Class C title. First singles player Tate Yoder, second singles Nate Boechat and third singles Luke Theoharidis are joined by first doubles team Tim Dentino and Matt Stephens and second doubles Peter Wu and Rowan Levangie-Thomas.

Girls tennis

The girls are 8-3 and ranked second behind Mattanawcook Academy. Eastern Maine champions in 2011 and 2012, they were runner-ups last year to Van Buren. Sophia Chen plays first singles, Adrian Van der Eb second singles, and Claire Yue third singles. First doubles team is Abbey Frost and Erin Neihoff, with the second team filled by Jenna Gray and Lindsay Nevin.

The state tournament for boys and girls begins on June 2 with the prelims—both the girls and boys earned a bye based on their rankings—with the quarterfinals on June 4, semis on June 6 and regional finals on June 9 and the states on June 13.
