The girls tennis team has lost a couple close matches, as well as having to forfeit a few positions with their small numbers. Sometimes the forfeits happen when the match results are out of reach. We should improve our results in the second half of the season and with some luck, get a position in the playoffs.

The girls lost a double header to Penobscot Valley on May 2, 3-2 and 4-1. In the first match, Allison Cormier won 8-4 in first singles, Justine Rhys lost 8-4 in second singles, and Sonya Shepard lost 8-0 in third singles. In the doubles, Alison Eaton/Jess Trainor won 8-2 and we forfeited the other doubles.

In the second match, Allison Cormier lost 9-8 (7-5) in first singles, Justine Rhys lost 8-1 in the second singles, and Sonya Shepard lost 8-0 in third singles. In the doubles, Alison Eaton/Jess Trainor won 8-1 and we forfeited the other doubles.

The girls lost to Sumner 3-1 on May 5. Alison Cormier won 5-1 (retired) in first singles, Jordyn Judkins lost 8-2 in second singles, and Justine Rhys lost 8-2 in third singles. In the doubles, Alison Eaton/Jess Trainor lost a close battle 9-7 and we didn’t play the other doubles.

The girls lost to George Stevens 5-0 on May 6. Allison Cormier lost 8-1 in first singles, Jordyn Judkins lost 8-5 in second singles, and Justine Rhys lost 8-5 in third singles. In the doubles, Alison Eaton/Jess Trainor lost 8-3 and we forfeited the other doubles.
