Lady Mariners finish season with loss in prelims

The  Lady Mariners fell to third-ranked Fort Fairfield on February 10 in the post-season prelims at Central Aroostook, ending a season that saw a surge in the last weeks. They end the season ranked 14th with an 8-12 record, with wins in the final two weeks against Jonesport-Beals and Class B teams Bucksport and George Stevens Academy.

The final score against Fort Fairfield was 46-32, with the Mariners scrambling against an 11 to 12-point deficit throughout the game. Morgan Shepard led scoring with 12 points, with Allyson Eaton contributing seven.

It was the final game in their high school career for seniors Holli Boyce, Alison Cormier, Logan Eaton, Mallory Gommo and Morgan Shepard, who were honored at Senior Night on February 4.

On the boys side, their final game against Jonesport-Beals was a 61-49 loss. They end the season with a 2-16 record, without qualifying for the prelim game.
